Our world is very huge and sending a message from Armenia to America a hundred years ago was impossible or it took a lot of time. Nowadays you can send a message in a few seconds and it is very simple. You can sit comfortably in your armchair at home and dial the mobile phone of your friends or relatives who live in any country of the world and speak to them. The media makes the world much smaller – particularly the TV and the Internet.

Discussion of the English Speaking Club: My Opinion about inner talent

  One of the keys to find human happiness is to reveal inner talent. I agree that everyone has an inner talent but very few people manage to reveal it. I think that in order to find one’s inner talent he or she should be given the opportunity to get developed comprehensively.

I have not fully revealed my inner talent yet, but I have a characteristic feature, a trait tat will help me to find it fully in time.

The Historical Monuments of Armenia

Armenia is a museum in the open air. This sentence was uttered by Rockwell Kent, when he visited Armenia in the 1960s. We can’t find any ancient houses, palaces or other old dwelling   constructions in our country. The only preserved historical monuments in Armenia are churches and monasteries and that is logically true. Armenia was the first country in the world to adopt Christianity as state religion, and the first state built church in the world is considered to be the Mother Cathedral in Echmiatsin which was built in 303AD. It was founded by the first Armenian Catholicos St Gregory. In fact it is one of the oldest Christian churches in the world. The Mother Cathedral in Echmiatsin is the holy centre of the Armenian Apostolic Church and is inscripted into UNESCO World Heritage List in 2000.

Everybody knows, that knowing foreign languages and especially English, helps us to communicate with the representatives of other peoples, but it turned out, that the power of this general truth   fades in case of really great actors.Years ago, I saw a show on TV, during which Sergey Israyelyan told  about an incident, the witness of which he was in the 1970s.And now I will retell it recollecting what I heard that day.

My opinions about E-books

Nowadays electronic books are very popular and are becoming more and more widespread.
The advantages of e-books:
• E-books are more accessible for everybody in all the countries than paper books. For example, we can read an e-book which has been published in Spain and not a single copy has been brought to Armenia yet.
• Most e-books are free and we don’t have to pay for them.
• E-books are more helpful to students because they have to use a lot of books while preparing for their exams, and it is difficult for them to get so many paper books.
The disadvantages of e-books:
• Reading too many e–books can make our eyesight worse and worse
• When we want to begin reading an e-book, we also check our e–mail and visit the social sites, and so we sit in front of the computer for a longer time and live a passive life.
